About Us
GigAlert.com was born out of our nation's economic crisis, and the desire to help connect people, small, medium, and big businesses alike. With the perfect blend of quality, customer service, consumer privacy, price point and the ability to reach over 15 million unique visitors a month, GigAlert.com is the place to find gigs and post jobs.
Doug Macklem, CEO and founder of GigAlert.com, started the company after suffering personally from the economic downturn. Doug left the corporate world in search of a more flexible and rewarding lifestyle in Southern California, starting his own business. It seemed, just as his plane landed, the country's economy collapsed. Doug's house he left behind would go on to stay on the market for two years unsold. Doug needed some sort of side work to supplement his income, but he didn't know how to connect with people who needed his services. Then it came to him - - a gig board to help the "underemployed." The idea started with a focus on "gigs" to introduce side work opportunities to those looking to supplement their wages. And working in sales, Doug knew how important it was to provide valuable business leads for people trying to compete in this economy. The proposed website quickly evolved into something that would also include opportunities to find part and full-time employment. Doug made a list of everything that the day laborer to the seasoned professional would need in a job board, and made it happen.
As a former computer programmer and business analyst, Doug had high standards and knew that a job board for everyone would have to boast user-ease. Tested on the computer-challenged and techie alike, GigAlert.com is smooth to navigate and also provides ease for on-the-go job seekers and employers by providing Email and phone text alerts.
GigAlert.com has an unmatched price-point, giving free business leads to both individuals and businesses through profile pages and gig subscriptions. In addition, employers seeking part or full-time employees will pay only $29 to post a 30 day ad, as opposed to the $300-$500 charged by other national job boards and newspapers. All job ads will be syndicated to some of the largest search engines for jobs on the Internet, such as www.indeed.com. The affordable pricing combined with the high standards of the website create a service of the best value.
